February

  • Heidi participated in the full script reading of (wr./dir.) Toni Pezone Clay’s comedic pilot, “Normaltown”.  This took place in Topanga Canyon, where the beginnings of the project are now scheduled to be shot in May 2016.  Heidi plays the open-minded, funny, hippie chick, named “Summer”! What a FUN character!
     
  • Heidi supports great friend, (wr./dir./actor) Chris Valenti’s screening of his very funny comedy “The Honesty Trial”, in time for Valentine’s day. The story looks up close at the beginnings of a challenged relationship, & was part of Playhouse West’s annual film festival. Hilarious writing, acting, & cast! Congrats Chris!
     
  • Heidi participates in the partial script reading of apocalyptic film of (wr./dir./prod.) Chad Kukahiko, called “Last Days”, as part of the We Make Movies community.  Heidi portrayed a character that is trying to survive during this horrific new world… It had a very profound writing, a great cast, & a very cool story!
     
  • Heidi participates in the reading of the comedic short film “Resolution”, written by Michael Russnow, as part of the We Make Movies community. Heidi played an empathetic friend to the hilariously neurotic lead character! Great writing!
     
  • The short film Heidi script supervised on back in Oct. 2015, called “The Table Read”, by wr./dir./actor Chris Valenti, screened as part of the We Make Movies “What’s Next” screening series.  To re-cap: his hilarious short was part of the WMM iPhone Challenge, where a short has to be shot, edited, and uploaded in 48 hours!   • Also, wr./prod/actor, Ernie Charles’s short film “I Think I Need a Drink” screened as part of the WMM “What’s Next” screening series as well.  Heidi voiced a character in this comedic short film! Again, look here for updates of specifics, with regards to future festival screenings…

January

  • Heidi was a part of and shot the short film “Let There Be Peace”, directed by (dir./actor) Donald Watson. Heidi plays a showgirl that has seen it all. It’s a profound piece that makes a statement about what’s needed today… more Peace in the world!  Don is a great director, & it has a wonderful cast! We’re psyched to see this finished project!
     
  • Heidi participated in the script reading of “Scrap”, a poignant & dramatic piece, written by (actress/wr.) Vivian Kerr, as part of the We Make Movies community.  Heidi got to play a 4 yr-old little girl! This is where Heidi’s VO skills are fun to apply to these kinds of imaginative roles!
     
  • Heidi participates in a partial script reading of “Cleaning House”, written by Gabby Tary, a political satire, as part of the We Make Movies community.  Heidi plays the part of a curious & determined police detective, named Kathy Murdock. 

December 2015

  • Heidi does some VO ADR for the fabulous horror/zombie-compilation movie “Virus of the Dead”, produced by over 25 producers, including the award-wining (dir./wr./producer) John Penney!
  • Heidi travels to Santa Barbara to participate in a play reading of a play by Caroline Aaron, called "Such A Pretty Face"; which will be produced by Kevin Costner, as well as Aaron Semmel! Great cast & wonderful team they are assembling for this future production! It has to do with warped female body issues in today's society, & has a very meaningful message!! Wonderfully written Caroline! Congrats to all!
  • In the 1st yr. Anniversary for the website based on the movie,  “Unbroken”, the film asked people to post their most challenging moments up on their website called “#IamUnbroken”.  I shared my story up there from many years ago, of when I had to learn how to walk again…  My piece is called “Never Give Up!”, & the website is still posting inspiring stories from people all over the world! November 2015

  • Heidi books a part on the Cartoon Network’s cartoon called “We Bare Bears” as the recurring role of the forest ranger’s Mom! What a FUN cartoon, with some wonderful comedians as part of the cast! A terrific creator/director of the show, Daniel Chong! & a BIG thank you to CD, Kristi Reed!! Airing date will be posted on here, once it is known!
     
  • Heidi’s script “Mary Had a Little Lamb” is read as part of the Semi-Finalists of the We Make Movies Short Film Challenge! GREAT acting by actors, Elan Swanson, Thom Rivera & Geoffrey Gould narrating, this fun, fresh, & hilarious comedy! It was a close vote for all scripts involved in the evening, so, even though her script did not move on, she will be raising the funds to shoot this project in the near future. Still a win-win scenario!!
     
  • In the same evening, Heidi narrated another We Make Movies Short Film Challenge script; a comedy called “Happy Hour”, written by Christine Grail.  Great premise about the world of dating in the present day! Funny characters! Great job, Christine!
     
  • Heidi participated in wr/dir/actress Gabby Tary’s script “Cleaning House”, a political satire, at the Novel Café in Santa Monica.  She played the part of a curious & determined police detective, named Kathy Murdock.  A timely script about the elections, that takes place against the backdrop of some political murders.  Great cast, & script!
     
  • Heidi voices a character in great friend Ernie Charles’ hilarious short film, “I Think I Need a Drink”! This is a terrific piece written, produced & starring Ernie, and a full-on super cast of actors! He will be entering it into festivals soon! Look here for updates of specifics…
     
  • Heidi participates in another 2 We Make Movie Short Film Challenge scripts: The 1st script was a drama named “Coin”, written by Tehana Weeks about what a young woman’s experience dealing with poverty. Powerful story, Tehana! The 2nd script was a poignant story named “Lost & Found”, written by Dawn Sam Alden, that dealt with the reuniting of 2 sisters that had lost each other through fated circumstances. Beautiful story & characters! Great job, Dawn!
     
  • Heidi was involved in the reading of the supernatural script “The Coal Bin”, written by Geoffrey Gould, as part of the We Make Movies community.  She narrated this powerful story of intrigue & revenge! Wonderful writing & characters!!

October 2015

  • Heidi shot the short film "The Attic" by Award-winning dir./writer Sean Cunninham. Actor Jeremy Mascia played my brother, as we're a sister/brother dealing with the death of their Father. Wonderful director, with great writing & a really poignant film!
     
  • Heidi’s script “Mary Had a Little Lamb” made it into the Semi-Finals of the We Make Movies Short Film Challenge, where the winner gets $5K to make their short film!!  Her script will be read in Nov., in front of the WMM community!
     
  • Heidi participated in the We Make Movies 2015 Apple Filmmaking challenge, where a team of WMM members collaborated on a short film, which was shot, edited,& screened over one weekend in the middle of Oct. in collaboration with the Santa Monica Apple store, who furbished all of the equipment & training for free! The film was a comedy called "The Table Read" (wr/dir/actor) by great friend Chris Valenti; co-dir.: Dawn Bower; DP: John Beaton Hill; Editor: Michael Beardsley; Sound: John Mickevich. Heidi was the Script Supervisor on this hilarious short!
     
  • Heidi narrates the comedic short film “In For a Penny” by (wr./actress) Stina Pederson, as part of the 1st night of We Make Movies’ Semi-finalists. Each eve. of Semi-Finalist script readings, 11 scripts are read, & out of those, 2 move on to the Finals!  Good Luck everyone!
     
  • Heidi participates in the reading of the comedic pilot “Re-Committed”,written by Kelly Mullis, Michael Beardsley, Geoffrey Gould, & Maureen Chesus, as part of the We Make Movies community. It was an hysterical piece about the crazy world of therapy! Great writing!
     
  • Heidi is involved in the We Make Movies showcase that is happening on Wed. Oct. 14th, at 7:30pm, at the Asylum Theatre in Hollywood! Heidi is in a comedic piece with Ernie Charles (directed by dir/wr./actor Chris Valenti). It's from an orig. Off Broadway One-act, called "Do Over"! Hilarious! Come laugh w/ us, & have an eve. of FUN!
